2 persons gunned down in Rangamati
Two men were shot dead by miscreants in Gorjonia area of Rangamati's Kaptai upazila on Wednesday morning over establishing supremacy.
The deceased were identified as Subash Tonchonga, 45, son of late Kalachan Tonchonga and Dhanjay Tongchonga, 32, son of Ranjit Karbari. They were residents of the area.
Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kaptai Police Station, said, "Subash was staying at Dhanjay's house last night. The miscreants came to the house and woke them up from sleep."
Later, they shot them dead on the spot.
Dhanjaj received five bullets and Subash received two bullets, the OC further added.
Additional Superintendent of Kaptai Police (Circle) Junayet Kawser said that it is initially assumed that the attack was carried out by opponent armed terrorists.
A police team along with the additional superintendent visited the spot and recovered the bodies.
The bodies were sent to Rangamati Hospital for autopsy.
