7 including 4 of a family die in separate accidents in Kushtia

At least seven people including four members of a family died in separate road accidents in Kushtia on Tuesday.
The accidents took place in Katdah level-crossing area of Mirpur upazila and on Pabna-Ishwardi road in Bheramra upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Mezbaul alias Masum, 35, son of Abdus Salam of Sharerhat village of Bagha upazila of Rajshahi; his wife Runa Begum, 26, his mother Mahmuda Khatun, 55, his son Ruzvi, 9 months, and the CNG driver Md Zaman, 32.
Shuvro Prokash Das, the officer in charge (investigation) at Bheramara Police Station, said an accident took place on Pabna-Ishwardi highway around 3:15 pm when a Kushtia bound truck smashed an Ishwardi bound auto rickshaw. The driver and two passengers died on the spot. Two others died at Kushtia General Hospital while undergoing treatment.
In another incident, two people were killed after Rajshahi bound Kapotakha Express hit a power tiller that was crossing the rail tracks at Halsa Railway Station. The two people in the power tiller died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Kawsar Ali and Mahabubul Islam from Deshgram village of Mirpur upazila.
Poradaha Government Railway Police Officer-in-Charge Jasim Uddin said, "Kapatakkha Express hit the power tiller leaving two people dead. The bodies have been recovered from the scene."
