Bangladesh’s first fintech summit held in Dhaka

The Bangladesh Brand Forum on Saturday organized the first-ever fintech summit powered by guardian life in the capital.
Around 300 financial professionals of the country attended the event, said a press release.
The Theme for the summit was 'Shaping Future of Finance for People' with the objective to provide collaborative space to fin-tech companies to share learning, success and failure with present and aspiring fin-tech Companies, for entrepreneurs to initiate policy dialogue for right policy framework for Future Fintech companies to thrive sustainably and to nurture the fin-tech ecosystem so that Bangladesh receives the full benefit and value of Global Fintech drive and movement.
The Summit comprised of 4 Keynote Sessions, 2 Insight Sessions and 5 Panel Discussions with the international and local industry leaders and opened with the welcoming speech from Founder & Managing Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum Shariful Islam.
"Fintechs have laid the foundation for future disruption and set the pace with which incumbent financial institutions need to respond to customer expectations," Financial Services Industry Leader, Deloitte South Asia, Sanjoy Datta said.
The insight session was conducted by Gazi Yar Mohammed, EVP, head of MFS & Agent Banking, ONE Bank Limited.
A case study, "Future of Retail Banking: How Aamartaka is Leveraging Fintech to Empower the Economy" was conducted by Maruf Toufiq, CEO & Founder of Aamartaka.com.
The key note speakers and the panel of the summit were made up of senior members of banks, universities, financial institutions and government agencies.
