Bus driver arrested on Firoz’s case
The college student lost his right hand in the accident in Rajshahi on last Friday
Police have arrested the driver of 'Mohammed Paribahan' bus carrying Firoz, a college student, who lost his right hand while the vehicle collided with a truck at Katakhali area in Rajshahi.
The driver, identified as Faruk Hossain Sarker was arrested from Puthiya Bazar on Thursday at around 7 am.
The bus was seized from the metropolis’s Shiroil bus terminal on last Saturday.
The involved truck was also seized from an automobile workshop in Bhadra area of the city.
“Footage from CCTV and information from the injured primarily confirmed the involvement the vehicles, which were seen speeding and swerving recklessly,” said Police Commissioner Humayun Kabir at a press briefing.
“At one point, the truck collided with the bus from the opposite direction and Firoz’s right hand got caught in-between the two vehicles,” he added.
Firoz, who lost his right hand in the gruesome accident on last Friday evening, is a graduate student of Social Work Department at Rajshahi College.
His father Mahfuzur Rahman filed a case against the two drivers.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital Dr Saiful Ferdous reported that Firoz’s condition is stable now.
