Chief Justice appoints judicial officers to oversee affidavit department
Two judiciaries appointed to oversee irregularities in the affidavit department
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has appointed two judicial officers to prevent anomalies at the affidavit department of the Supreme Court.
The appointed individuals for this supervisory role are Abdur Rahman, Deputy Registrar (Joint District Judge) and Omar Haider, Assistant Registrar (Senior Assistant Judge) from the High Court division.
Supreme Court Registrar General Ali Akbar said on December 10 that they have been appointed in this role following the administrative responsibility assignment procedure.
The move comes after the Chief Justice expressed his dissatisfaction over irregularities at the department and failure to prevent anomalies even after introduction of CC cameras.
Thirty-one officers of the affidavit division of Supreme Court were also transferred by the administration.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud said, "Even after installing CC cameras, we are not able to prevent such practices. Everyone completes the affidavits outside of the premises now."
