Toronto protests against money launders
The Bangladeshi residents of Toronto have vowed that by no means will Canada be allowed to be a safe destination for Bangladeshi money launders.
Toronto's Bangladeshi-born cultural activists organised a protest where the speakers made this vow with a song titled 'Rukho Lutera Bachao Swadesh' (stop the smugglers, save motherland) demanding action against the smugglers who looted Bangladeshi banks and migrated to Canada.
More than two hundred expatriate Bangladeshis took part in the extraordinary event, which was held at the city's Hope United Church auditorium on Friday evening.
The expatriate Bangladeshis of Canada started a social movement after they saw the news in Bangladeshi dailies that money launders are settling in Canada after plundering of thousands of crores of money from Bangladeshi banking sector. Earlier, the protesters held a human chain.
