FR Tower owner, two Rajuk officials asked to surrender before lower court
The Appellate Division also rejected the bail of the three accused
The owner of FR Tower, which caught fire leading to the deaths of 25 people, and two Rajuk officials have been asked to surrender to the lower court.
The Appellate Division also rejected the bail of the three accused.
A lower court had previously granted bail to the accused but it was later stayed by the High Court.
A bench of Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain upheld today the High Court stay order.
The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case against FR Tower owner Syed Md Hossain Imam Faruque, former Rajuk's inspector Md Aurangzeb Siddique Nannu and former deputy director (estate) Md Sawkat Ali over forgery of the design of FR Tower.
The trio took bail from trial court in Dhaka. Later on November 5, the High Court rejected stayed their bail following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Some 25 people died and 73 others were injured in a devastating fire on March 27 in FR Tower building in the capital's Banani area.
