High Court seeks information on total dengue deaths
The High Court today has sought information on this year's total number of deaths in dengue, a mosquito borne disease, across the country.
A bench of Justice Tariq-ul Hakim and Justice Iqbal Kabir, asked Deputy Attorney General Kazi Moinul Hossain to submit a report in this connection by contacting the Health Ministry within November 11.
The same bench asked the two Dhaka city corporations to submit a report on progress of reducing aedes mosquitos.
Barrister Taufiq Inam Tipu was in favour of Dhaka North City Corporation while Deputy Attorney General Barrister Kazi Moinul Hossain stood for the state.
On August 26, the High Court ordered to conduct drives and spread mosquito-killing drugs across the country for destroying breeding places of aedes mosquitos and controlling dengue.
