Khaleda gets bail in 2 cases
Khaleda cannot be released from jail yet as she is convicted in two other cases.
The High Court on Tuesday granted six months’ bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in two defamation cases.
However, Khaleda cannot be released from jail yet as she is convicted in two other cases.
The HC bench comprising Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Ahmed Sohel approved the bails in cases filed for hurting religious sentiment in 2014 and making derogatory remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2016.
Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali stood for Khaleda while Deputy Attorney General FR Khan argued in favour of the state in court.
In February 2018, the BNP chief was sent to jail upon conviction in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
