20 Chhatra Shibir men detained in Brahmanbaria
Police raid madrasa after receiving information about carrying out violence on Victory Day
Police have detained 20 members of the Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir from a madrasa in Brahmanbaria today while they were planning to carry out sabotage on Victory Day.
"On information of the meeting, police conducted a raid at Al-hera Hafizia Madrasa in Bhadhughar area in the district town, and detained the Shibir members," said Additional Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Rezaul Kabir.
"Among the detainees - Nurul Amin and Jameer Uddin are active members of the district Chhatra Shibir. Huge number of jihadi books were also recovered from the spot," he added.
"Legal action will be taken against the arrestees," said Sohag Rana, inspector of Sadar Model Police Station.
