DMP arrests 58 for selling, consuming drugs in city
The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP in association with local police stations carried out the simultaneous drives starting at 6am on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 58 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs while conducting different anti-narcotics drives in the last 24 hours till 6am today.

A total of 11,814 pieces of Yaba tablets, more than 111 grams of heroin, 6.5 kilograms of cannabis, 193 bottles of Phensedyl and 10 seductive injections were recovered from their possession, said a DMP press release here.
A total of 44 cases have been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
Besides, three people Mohammad Firoz Ali alias Ali, 59, Md Sumon Ahmed, 28, and Md Sajib Mia, 20, were arrested in the capital's Kadamtali Police Station area with 8,000 pieces of Yaba tablets and two others Md Samsu, 60, and Mosammat Rokeya Khatun alias Rekha, 37, were nabbed from Rampura area with 2,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets.
