Man fined for selling cough syrup as coronavirus vaccine

He was fined Tk20,000 under the consumer rights act

A Chattogram mobile court has fined a person named Mansur Ali with TK20,000 for selling cough syrup claiming as vaccine of coronavirus.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer MD Ruhul Amin conducted the drive at Chodhuryhat area on Monday.

Ruhul Amin said, Mansur posted advertisements on his facebook account claiming the syrups as coronavirus vaccine. He visited the man in disguise of a buyer and found the vaccines as cough syrups prepared by Ayurvedic Institutions.

He said, Mansur Ali confessed his crimes to the court. He was fined under the consumer rights act.
