A murder case accused in Narayanganj on Monday confessed that he had killed his co-worker over a property feud.
The accused Musa Mia said he had stabbed and choked Liton Miah to death seven months ago.
Musa, a painter at the dockyard, confessed to the killing to Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahmudul Mohsin.
Confirming the confessional statement, sub-inspector of Rupganj Police Station, Nazim Uddin said, "Liton Miah conflicted with his father-in-law regarding four plots of lands in Chanpara Rehabilitation Centre. Liton's father-in-law hired Musa to kill Liton in exchange for money."
Musa had stabbed Liton in the stomach and choked him before burying him in a sand field, he added.
The court has granted a 5-day remand for Musa and five others.
Earlier, the police had arrested Liton and sent to jail in connection with the murder of Kailla Siraj of Demra. He started working as a painter in the dockyard after he came out of the jail, Nazim Uddin further said.
