The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police has arrested a suspected Neo-JMB member from Baridhara area of the capital on Sunday.
A press release issued by ATU's Superintendent of Police Md Mahiduzzaman confirmed the matter.
The arrestee was identified as Shaheen, 24. He hails from Char Kalikapur of Madaripur district.
Shaheen is also known as Musa, Abu Bakkor Siddik and Dibaa Sultan, said the press release.
"Several books on militancy and a smartphone were seized from Shaheen's possession," Mahiduzzaman told The Business Standard.
He also said that the arrestee was planning to organise the militants in the capital.
