Risha murder case verdict on October 6
The eighth-grader was stabbed by the accused Obaidul Khan in front of her school on August 24, 2016
A Dhaka court today set October 6 to pronounce judgement in the sensational Risha murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge KM Imrul Qayes set the date after both the prosecution and the defence concluded their arguments in the case, earlier today.
Risha, a student of Dhaka's Willes Little Flower School and College was stabbed to death by the accused Obaidul Khan in front of the school on August 24, 2016. The eighth-grader succumbed to her injuries in hospital four days later.
In the days leading up to the crime Obaidul, a tailor, had been stalking Risha. Right after the murder, he fled Dhaka. He was later arrested on August 31, 2016, from Nilphamari and confessed to his crimes during primary interrogation.
Later on November 14, 2016, police submitted the charge-sheet against Obaidul.
The court on April 17, 2017, framed charges against Obaidul as the sole accused in the Risha murder case.
