Student lured by job offer gang raped in Narsingdi

A gang of culprits raped a female student after luring her with a job offer on Friday evening in Shibpur area of Narsingdi.
After escaping her captors, the victim was admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Confirming the matter, Inspector M Muminul Islam of Shibpur model police station said, "Police have detained a suspect named Rakib Mia, 20, over the incident. He hails from Sristigar village of Shibpbpur upazila.
"Two other suspects Arif, 25, and another unidentified man is on the run from the law."
Speaking to The Business Standard, the victim said, "Arif promised to give me a job. He asked me to bring my academic certificates to Sristigar on Friday. He picked me up in a microbus there.
"Arif and two others drove me around the entire afternoon and wanted to take me to an isolated area in the evening. When I refused and started shouting, Arif and his accomplices beat me up. They later took me to an isolated area, tied me up and then gang raped me."
Adding that the culprits later locked her up in a house, the victim continued, "I finally managed to escape my abductors and reached the Shibpur police station with the help of a local youth.
"From there I was sent to Shibpur Upazila Health Complex and later to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital."
The victim's mother reiterated that Arif called her daughter on mobile phone to give her a job.
"When the evening passed but my daughter did not return, I kept calling her mobile phone the entire night. Later, I was informed that she was taken to Shibpur Upazila Health Complex on Saturday afternoon."
Inspector M Muminul Islam said no was filed over the incident till 7pm on Saturday.
"Police detained one of the accused and seized a microbus on the basis of the victim's initial complaint," he added.
