4 Cox's Bazar restaurants fined for overcharging tourists

Cox's Bazar District Administration conducted a drive and fined four "elite" restaurants Tk120,000 upon receiving complaints of over-charging and unhygienic conditions.
The fines were imposed in a mobile court drive on Wednesday led by Lovely Yasmin Seema, assistant commissioner of the district administration and executive magistrate.
The District Administration imposed fines of Tk50,000 on Taranga Restaurant; Tk 30,000 on Biram Restaurant; Tk20,000 on Ruposhi Bangla restaurant; and Tk20,000 on Adda Bari Restaurant.
Tarun Barua, the district sanitary inspector said, "The fines have been imposed under relevant sections of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009."
Officers and members of the Ansar Battalion cooperated in the drive.
