Class XI admission process to begin on Sunday
The admission process for Class XI will begin on Sunday and will continue till August 20. Admission seekers will be able to apply online only for the 2020-21 session this year.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Ziaul Haque told The Business Standard that all preparations have already been taken so that students can apply smoothly. Admission seekers will be able to apply through this website: www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd
According to sources at the Dhaka Education Board, a student can apply to a maximum of 10 colleges or equivalent educational institutions. Students will have to pay Tk150 for this through Nagad, Sonali Bank, Bkash, Surecash or Rocket.
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will provide technical support for the entire admission process.
Admission seekers will be put in colleges on the basis of their Secondary School Certificate or equivalent exam results. Admissions will begin on September 13 and continue till September 17.
The Education Ministry had planned to start the admission process from May 10 this year, but couldn't do it due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As many as 17 lakh students passed the SSC and equivalent exams this year. Of them, 1,35,000 got GPA 5.
There are 22 lakh seats in the higher secondary level educational institutions. But most of the educational institutions are substandard.
