PUST students demand VC, administrative officers’ resignation

The protesting students threaten for tougher movement if their demand is not meet immediately

Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) students today placed fresh demand for the resignation of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr M Rustom Ali and all administrative officers.

The new demand was placed as the authorities concerned failed to meet the 12-point demand within the given time they placed on October 28.

The protesting students threaten for tougher movement if their demand is not meet immediately.

However, the Vice-Chancellor denied to make any comments regarding the issue.

Vice-Chancellor Dr M Rustom Ali admitted talking on the phone and meeting the candidate several times before the recruitment exam, but denied taking any bribes from him.

The students started the protest after an audio of an alleged conversation between the Vice-Chancellor and job candidate Monirul Islam over accepting Tk8 lakh as bribe to give him teacher position at the university became viral on social media.
