Registration for the 2020-2021 Hult Prize, often called the Nobel Prize for students, at Jagannath University (JnU) ended on 31 October.
For the first time JnU is organising the prestigious event – to be attended by top universities of the world such as Harvard, Cambridge and the University of Southern California.
The winning team will be awarded $1 million for a business plan aimed at solving problems, identified by the United Nations, and implementing it. This year's challenge is "Food for Good: Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change."
The grand finale will be held on 27 November, virtually.
Regarding the competition, JnU's Campus Director Sibbir Ahmad said, "I believe that the students of Jagannath University will set an example for the world through their different ideas."
More than 2,000 universities from around 150 countries are taking part in the Hult Prize competition.
