UGC asks private universities to halt classes, exams
The commission took the decision considering the current coronavirus situation in the country, UGC Director of communication and information Shamsul Arefin said
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked the private universities to halt classes, exams and evaluation until further notice.
The UGC today issued a notice regarding this and sent a copy to the media.
"The whole country is currently separated from the capital city. The Dhaka University and Jagannath University is closed for an indefinite period," the notice reads.
"All the academic activities of all private universities will also remain closed for an indefinite period," it further reads.
Shamsul Arefin, UGC director of communication and information told The Business Standard that the commission took the decision considering the current coronavirus situation in the country.
