UIU observes National Mourning Day
The speakers at the programme discussed the life struggle, work and ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
United International University (UIU) has arranged a discussion meeting and du'a mahfi marking National Mourning Day and the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The programmes were held yesterday using the Zoom platform, reads a press release.
The speakers at the programme discussed the life struggle, work and ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Prof Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of UIU, presided over the virtual meeting where the speakers were Prof Dr Hasnan Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-charge), Prof Dr Mohammad Musa, Professor of the School of Business & Economics and Prof Dr Hamidul Huq, Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences and Director of Bangabandhu Study Centre.
The UIU vice chancellor said "We have to work together to build a 'Sonar Bangla' by learning from Bangabandhu's life and ideology."
Prof Dr Kawsar Ahmmed, Deputy Director of the BBA Program, conducted the du'a mahfil at the end of the discussion.
Lt Col Md Fazlul Hoque (Retd), Joint Registrar, moderated the programs where treasurer, faculty members and officials of the university were present.
