BERC committee recommends .93 paisa hike in per unit power tariff
The price of per unit of electricity was proposed to be increased from existing Tk4.77 to Tk5.88.
The Technical Evaluation Committee of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has recommended raising the price of per kilowatt power by .93 paisa on average.
The committee today publicly heard the Bangladesh Power Development Board's application, and recommended the new tariff after evaluation of electricity prices at the wholesale and retail levels.
At the start of the hearing, the price of per unit of electricity was proposed to be increased from existing Tk4.77 to Tk5.88.
The hearing was chaired by Monowar Islam, chairman of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission.
