Inspector General of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed has instructed officials for necessary measures to prevent price hike, black market and hoarding of essentials during this Ramadan.
Besides, he ordered police to ensure smooth road freight so that goods transporting vehicles do not face any harassment.
From police headquarters, Dr Benazir on Sunday exchanged views and issued the instructions to police unit commanders across the country.
He asked them to continue operations to maintain social distancing, lockdown and health advisories to tackle the coronavirus spread.
The IGP said police will do their best, showing respect to the feedbacks and love from general people and civil society members for fighting the virus.
"We will show zero tolerance to any irregularity, unprofessionalism and illegal means," said Benazir.
