Expatriate dies in flight while returning home
Borhan Uddin, hailed from Nawabganj of Dhaka, was returning home after being declared illegal in Kuwait
A migrant named Borhan Uddin died of stroke in a flight of Jazira Airways while returning to Dhaka from Kuwait on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Borhan Uddin, hailed from Nawabganj of Dhaka, according to information given in his passport.
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport officials said failing to contact anyone from Borhan's family as no active contact number was found, the expatriate welfare desk of the airport requested BRAC to find out his family.
Field organiser of BRAC Nawabganj upazila then searched locally in the upazila and succeeded to trace his family. Family members of the deceased then went to the airport, airport officials informed.
They said meanwhile, Airport Police took his body to Kurmitola Hospital for death certificate. The body will be handed over to the family after formalities ends at the hospital.
According to family members, Borhan went to Kuwait five years ago. He was returning by out pass after authorities in Kuwait declared him illegal. However, he was not infected by coronavirus. He is thought to have suffered a heart attack inside the plane.
