Father ‘kicked to death’ by daughter’s stalker in Jashore
Police have detained the accused, kept him in custody
A man was allegedly kicked to death by a stalker for protesting the harassment of his 20-year-old daughter in Jashore.
Police detained the accused, Hossain Ali, a neighbour of the victim, following the incident.
According to the victim's family members and local people, Hossain used to harass the girl frequently. He managed to record a phone call and collected some of her private photos.
He offered the girl with indecent proposal. After getting rejected, he threatened her of publishing the photos and the recording on social media.
Recently, the girl shared the matter with her parents, following which her father locked in altercations with Hossain several times in the last few days.
At one point during such an altercation on Friday morning, the girl's father slapped Hossain. In retaliation, Hossain kicked the man on his chest leading him to get injured on head falling on the ground.
Family members and local people rushed him to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
Dr Kajol Mallik from the hospital's emergency department said the man had died before he arrived at the hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Jashore Kotowali Model Police Station Mohammed Maniruzzaman said, "We visited the place and came to know about the matter of altercation.
"Hossain has been in police custody and the victim's body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy."
