Obaidul Quader also labelled Priya’s claims as completely untrue and provocative
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the government is advancing slowly on the Priya Saha issue.
“We do not want to take any strong action for such a small issue,” said Quader, who also serves as the Awami League general secretary, at a press briefing held in the ministry.
“The government will thoroughly scrutinise the recent statement made by Priya Saha, because there is a big conspiracy going on against Bangladesh. We will ask her why she made such a comment against Bangladesh,” the minister told reporters.
Quader also labelled Priya’s claims as completely untrue and provocative.
Priya Saha, an organising secretary of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, attended a meeting at the White House in Washington, DC on July 19.
After identifying herself as a Bangladeshi, she was seen telling US President Donald Trump, among other things, that 37 million people of minority groups have “disappeared” from Bangladesh.
A video of the conversation between Priya Saha and Trump went viral on the social media soon after it was released.
