The Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh has asked expatriate Bangladeshis who have returned from abroad not to go to mosques, in consideration of the growing number of coronavirus cases detected in the country.

The foundation made the suggestion in a press release issued by its Director General Anis Mahmud on Tuesday.
The press release said that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost the whole world, and has created a difficult situation in Bangladesh.
In a bid to check the spread of the virus, the government has taken various measures including limiting domestic and international flights.
The Islamic Foundation has made the suggestion considering the extenuating circumstances in the country, and to protect religious Muslims from infection, read the press release.
It also asked people to put importance on discussing the topic during Friday prayers, and to pray to Allah for exemption.
