Hundreds of students attended a daylong computer festival at the Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology (BAIUST) in Cumilla.
The computer science and engineering department and the computer club of the university arranged "The national computer festival Computenigma 2020".
Students from various universities, colleges and schools took part in the competition individually and in groups.
This festivals' main purpose was the "progress of the technology sector along with preparing and handling the fourth industrial revolution".
Through the participation of school-college students a math Olympiad was arranged. In addition to that, boot soccer, boot racing, line follower robot contest, programming competition, IT business case study competition along with 10 interuniversity competitions were arranged.
At the beginning of the day, Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Prof Brig Gen KM Salzar Hossain, NDC, PSC (retd) inaugurated the festival and at the end distributed the prizes among the winners of the competition.
Treasurer Col Prof Md Mosharraf Hossain (retd), Registrar Col Suman Kumar Barua, PSC (retd), among others, attended the programme.
At that time, the BAIUST signed four separate memorandum of understandings with Orange BD, Ringer Soft Ltd, 4k Software Ltd, IPAT Ltd. Registrar Col Suman signed the contracts on behalf of the university.
Associate partners E Valley, ICT Division, Cumilla City Corporation, IEEE Bangladesh Chapter, Teletalk, social media reach out, Gigabyte, 3D Ltd, Prothom Alo, The Daily Star, ABC Radio, Somoy TV, Bangla Tribune and Ringer Soft Ltd jointly helped arrange the festival.
