Three projects, worth Tk1,376 crore, are underway in Kurigram and two more projects – worth Tk714 crore and Tk383 crore – have been proposed.

State minister for Water Resources Colonel (retd) Zahid Farooq said this, in response to a question from reporters, after inspecting the damaged area of Moglabasa in Sadar upazila of Kurigram on Friday, read a press release.
The state minister has distributed relief among the flood victims.
He further said, "21 projects for river governance were openly offered to the donor countries. China has shown interest in the River Teesta. The Economic Relations Division will inform us after the final discussion with them."
Among others, local Member of Parliament (MP) Panir Uddin Ahmed (Kurigram 2), MP Professor MA Matin (Kurigram 3), MP Md Aslam Hossain Saudagar (Kurigram 1), Additional Secretary Mahmudul Islam, Director General of the Water Development Board Aminul Haque, Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Karim, Superintendent of Police Mahibul Islam Khan, district council President Zafar Ali, Deputy Secretary Nur Alam, Supervising Engineer Jyoti Prasad Ghosh, and Executive Engineer Ariful Islam, were present.
