Joynal Hazari becomes advisor to AL central committee

Joynal Hazari, a former MP from Feni and who had been expelled from the Awami League, has returned to the party after 15 years as an advisor to the central committee. He was appointed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Hazari had earlier received a grant of Tk40 lakh by the prime minister for his medical expenses.
Joynal Hazari arrived on Monday, October 28 at the Awami League's Dhanmondi office to receive his letter of appointment from the general secretary of the party, Obaidul Quader.
The prime minister's personal secretary Biplop Barua confirmed this to the media.
On October 2, various news outlets reported that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had informed central committee members of this before her visit to India. But the next morning Obaidul Quader, doubting the veracity of the news reports, said, "I do not know of this news. I do not know where it came from either."
In response, Joynal Hazari himself confirmed his appointment through social media. He said "There is no confusion regarding the matter."
Hazari had previously been elected member of parliament from the Feni-2 constituency four times, winning the elections held in 1986, 1991 and 1996.
