Labaid, Crescent hospitals fined over presence of Aedes larvae
The DNCC launched 4 mobile courts on Wednesday to search and destroy mosquito larvae
The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Wednesday fined Labaid and Crescent hospital along with several other business entities over presence of Dengue larvae in their premises.
The DNCC handed down the fines while conducting four mobile courts to search and destroy Aedes mosquito larvae.
Upon finding the presence of Aedes larvae, DNCC Executive Magistrate Selim Fakir fined Uttara branch of the Labaid Hospital Tk 5 lakh, Crescent Hospital Tk 2 lakh, a firm named King Fisher Tk 30 thousand and a flower shop Tk 15 thousand, said a DNCC press release.
For the same reason, Executive Magistrate Md Abdul Hamid Miah (Gulshan zone) fined Lavender departmental store Tk 2 lakh in Gulshan.
Meanwhile, Executive Magistrate Md Sagir Hossain fined Navana Real Estate Tk 10,000.
Bread and Beyond, Khajana Mithai and Diganta Money Exchange were also fined Tk 5 thousand each for not having license. Khushboo Biriyani was fined Tk 5 thousand for cooking in an unhygienic environment.
Executive Magistrate SM Shafiul Azam fined Islami Bank Hospital Tk 70 thousand and a tire shop Tk 5 thousand in DNCC Mirpur zone.
The DNCC press release said more drives will be conducted in the future.
