Liberation War Affairs Ministry to produce film on 'Operation Jackpot'

Ministry of Liberation War Affairs is set to make a film on the historic 'Operation Jackpot' waged by naval commandos of Muktibahini against the Pakistani Army during the liberation war.
A committee has been formed to complete this task and further planning is currently ongoing, a press release issued by the ministry reads.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque announced production of the film on Thursday at the conference room of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
The announcement was made after the unveiling of a book titled 'Naval War Ekattar', written by freedom fighter Shahjahan Kabir on the initiative of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Naval Commando Association.
He said 'Operation Jackpot' was one of the best operations in the history of naval warfare. With the help of Akashwani's song signal, the naval commandos of Bengal sank 27 Pakistani ships in a simultaneous operation in different ports. The film will be made to showcase its glorious history to the world.
The Minister said many incidents and facts regarding the great liberation war are still unknown to many. The great freedom is the greatest achievement of the Bengali nation. Every event, every sacrifice made for this achievement is of historical importance.
He called upon freedom fighters and researchers to archive these incidents.
Secretaries of Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Bir Muktijoddha Shahabuddin Ahmed Bir Uttar, Bir Muktijoddha Badiul Alam Bir Uttam, Bir Muktijoddha Md Shahjahan also spoke on the occasion.
