Fire at Kumargaon Power Plant under control

The fire that broke out in Kumargaon 120 MW Power Station of Sylhet Sadar upazila, has been brought under control.
Sylhet fire service control room confirming the matter told that, the fire is still not doused completely. It will take time to extinguish the fire completely as transmitter fuels are still burning.
Sylhet Power Development Board (PDB) Chief Engineer, Khandker Mokammel Hossain said that, currently it is not possible to say when the power supply will be normal.
A member of the fire service named, Jayant Kumar was injured while trying to put out the fire. He has been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, the chief engineer added.
The fire originated around 11.30am and at the moment four units of fire service were on the spot to bring the fire under control.
However, the cause of the fire is still unknown. The entire Sylhet district was without electricity due to the fire.
