Microbus that ran over mountaineer Reshma seized, driver held
Young mountaineer Reshma was killed after a microbus hit her bicycle on Lake Road near the Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka on the morning of August 7.
Police arrested the driver and seized the microbus that ran over and killed young mountaineer Reshma Nahar Ratna.
Driver Nayem along with the Hiace microbus was arrested from Ibrahimpur of Kafrul on Monday night, said Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station's Sub-Inspector Mubarak Ali, also investigating the officer of the case.
He said the microbus had passengers during the time of the accident.

Pedestrians took her to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Mubarak said that they had formed several teams and had been collecting and watching closed-circuit television camera footage of different areas in the city and finally traced out the vehicle and seized from Ibrahimpur.
DMP Tejgaon division Additional Deputy Commissioner Rubayat Zaman said that they had formed several teams and analyzed 382 CCTV camera footage of different areas in the city and finally traced out the vehicle and seized it from Ibrahimpur.
He said the microbus was going to Darussalama of Mirpur from Motijheel to drop office staff of a private firm on the day of the accident. On the way to the destination, it hit Reshma's cycle and speeded up toward Darussalam.
After analysing CCTV forage, investigators primarily collected details of the microbus and then seized the microbus from its owner's house, said ADC Rubayat.
The owner claimed that he had rented the vehicles to a private firm and a driver named Nayem was on the wheel on the accident day. Police then arrested the driver on Tuesday morning, said Rubayat.
He said the driver will be produced before a court on Wednesday seeking a five-day remand in their custody.
