National University VC expresses grief over Professor Selina Parvin’s death
Selina Parvin was the daughter of Major Shawkat Ali - a patriot and a martyr in the war of liberation in 1971
National University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Harun-or-Rashid has expressed his profound grief and deep condolence to the bereaved family for the death of Professor Dr Selina Parvin, 65, of the department of Zoology in Rajshahi University.
Selina Parvin was the daughter of Major Shawkat Ali - a patriot and a martyr in the war of liberation in 1971.
Shawkat Ali was a Subedar Major of the then East Pakistan Rifles. In 1971, he performed a historical responsibility by spreading Bangobondhu's March 26 speech, with his self-made device, to across the country. Later, the Pakistan Army detained him and tortured him severely.
Professor Selina Parvin passed away at 11 am on February 4. She left behind her husband, a son, a daughter, many relatives and wellwishers to mourn her death.
