Jugantor journo Nannu dies of burn injury
He was undergoing treatment in the ICU of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery after sustaining burn injuries in a fire incident at his residence
Moazzem Hossain Nannu, a senior crime reporter of the daily Jugantor, died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka around 8.20am today.
He was undergoing treatment in the ICU of the hospital after sustaining burn injuries in a fire incident at his residence in city's Aftabnagar area early Friday.
Resident Medical officer of DMCH burn unit Dr Partha Shankar Pal confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Nannu's wife said, "The fire broke out when he turned off the light of their son Shapnil's room, who died recently in an AC blast incident."
On January 2, Shapnil Ahmed Piash, 26, son of Moazzem Hossain Nannu, died after the compressor of an air-conditioner exploded in their house.
Nannu was also a former general secretary of the Crime Reporters Association.
