Law enforcers conducted the drive in Shahjalal, Shah Amanat, Suhrawardy and Shaheed Abdur Rab halls
The police have confiscated locally made weapons after conducting a raid in four students' dormitories of Chittagong University on Saturday night.
Law enforcers conducted the raid around 7.30pm with support from the university authorities in Shahjalal, Shah Amanat, Suhrawardy and Shaheed Abdur Rob halls, following a clash between two rival factions of the Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Additional Superintendent of Police on Chattogram (north) Mosiuddowla Reza said a number of weapons including machetes were seized from four student dormitories, but no one was detained in this connection.
Chittagong University Proctor Monirul Hasan said, "We have searched four halls and seized some locally made weapons from there. Our drives will continue in the future so that no one can get into any illegal activities in the halls."
