They also demanded withdrawal of the show-cause notices issued against three teachers.
Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) students have staged a protest today from where they placed eleven-point demands including the suspension of the Vice-Chancellor Dr M Rustom Ali.
Students started the demonstration from today morning in front of the administration building on the campus.
They also demanded withdrawal of the show-cause notices issued against three teachers - Assistant Professor Kamal Hossain of Business Faculty, Assistant Professor of Economics Yahya Bapari and Assistant Professor of the URP Department Kamrul Hasan.
They were show-caused for posting an audio of an alleged conversation between Pabna University of Science & Technology Vice-Chancellor Dr M Rustom Ali and job candidate Monirul Islam over accepting Tk8 lakh as a bribe to give a teacher position at the university.
Monirul Islam, who graduated from the history department of Dhaka University claimed, "I met all of the mentioned criteria and applied for a teacher position at the University.
"After the university suspended the recruitment exam in July this year, he asked me for Tk12 lakh as a bribe to get me the teacher position at the university," Monirul said.
Vice-Chancellor Dr M Rustom Ali admitted talking on the phone and meeting the candidate several times before the recruitment exam, but denied taking any bribes from him.
