Helicopters will be used to suppress criminal activity of any kind if needed.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has launched a drone operation to identify criminals including Rohingya outlaw Abdul Hakim in several remote hills of Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on October 25.
The hills included the Baharchhara hills, confirmed RAB-15 Wing Commander Azim Ahmed.
"The active armed Rohingya militant groups led by Abdul Hakim around the Rohingya camps and the surrounding hill areas have made the environment volatile by getting engaged in drug smuggling, establishing dominion, kidnapping and ransom trade," said Azim Ahmed.
He also assured to launch helicopter operations in the remote hilly areas to restore peace in the vicinity.
On the other hand, the technology-driven operation of the elite forces has brought hope to local people.
Continuation of such operations will bring the bandits under law, said local sources.
Among others, Deputy Commander of RAB-15 Major Rabiul Hassan, CPSC Company Commander Major Mehdi Hassan, CPSC Squad Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police Biman Chandra Karmakar and CPC-1 Company Commander Lieutenant Mirza Shahid Shahpen Mahtab (X), BN and CPC-2 Company Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police Shah Alam were present during the raid.
