‘Real soldiers must reflect motto of Bangladesh Army in their work’
Army chief speaks at the commissioning ceremony of the 78th BMA Long Term Course and the 53rd BMA Special Course
Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed has said soldiers have to prove themselves by reflecting the main motto of the Bangladesh Army, "In war, in peace, we are everywhere for our country," in their work.
He mentioned the role of the Bangladesh Army in dealing with cyclone Amphan amid the coronavirus outbreak as an example of the characteristic of a true soldier, according to a press release.
General Aziz said this on Thursday during the commissioning ceremony of 255 officers of the 78th BMA Long Term Course and the 53rd BMA Special Course. The event was held at the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) parade ground in Bhatiari, Chattogram.
Among the 255 officers, 231 are male and 24 are female. These officers are going to make significant contributions to the ongoing "Operation Covid Shield" of the Bangladesh Army.
Battalion Senior Under Officer Tamim Ahmed was adjudged best all-round cadet in the 78th BMA Long Term Course and awarded the most prestigious "Sword of Honour."
On the other hand, Company Senior Under Officer Masruf Hasan Nayeem received the "Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Gold Medal" for his outstanding performance in military affairs.
All the cadets formally took oath at the ceremony and were adorned with rank badges.
