The doctors of Jashore Sadar Hospital on Thursday found evidence of gang rape after concluding the medical tests on a woman who was allegedly gang raped in Sharsha upazila.
Residential Officer of Jashore General Hospital Arif Ahmed said they received the medical test report in the morning, with the results indicating the victim had indeed been gang-raped.
On Wednesday, three men identified as Quamrul Islam, a police informer, Omar Ali and Abdul Latif, all belonging to the upazila of Sharsha, were arrested in a case filed by the victim a day earlier accusing four men.
According to the case statement, Quamrul and three others went to the victim’s home located in Laxmanpur village in the upazila on Monday night and raped her.
Sensationally, the victim has alleged that the group was in fact led by Sub-inspector Khairul, in-charge of Gorpara police camp till he was withdrawn, even though he was not named in the case.
The victim has said she refrained from identifying SI Khairul as the main accused when she was filing the case due to his threats.
Contacted, Additional Superintendent of Police Salauddin Shikder said Khairul was presented before the victim on Tuesday, but she refrained from accusing him.
