At-Taheri sued over hurting Muslim religious sentiment
Tribunal has directed the ICT unit of the police to launch an investigation on the matter
A case has been filed against Dawat-e-Imani Bangladesh’s founding Chairman Mufti Gias Uddin At-Taheri in connection with hurting Muslim religious sentiment.
Judge Ash Shams Joglul Hossain accepted the case under Dhaka Cyber Tribunal and directed the ICT unit of the police to launch an investigation and submit a report on the case.
Ibrahim Khalil, working committee member of Dhaka Lawyers’ Association filed the case on Sunday.
According to the case statement, the ideology of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Islam’s holy book Quran do not support dancing and singing during religious events.
At-Taheri was seen doing various postures and reportedly using offensive words at different religious events.
The case statement further mentioned that At-Taheri hurt the religious sentiment of Muslims through his obscene speech.
