A 14-year-old girl was gang-raped while she was returning home from her maternal uncle's residence in Tangail on November 3.
Grandfather of the victim filed a case with Basail Police Station under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act accusing three men yesterday (November 6).
The men named Abul Kalam Azad, 35, Milon Hossen, 40, and Amirul Islam, 40, gave confessional statements to a Tangail court over the incident after they were arrested yesterday.
The three men tricked the girl into a mess (shared accommodation) in Gobinda School Para area in Basail while she was returning her home in Shakhipur of Tangail from her maternal uncle's residence in Basail.
The trio raped her there and then set her free, according to the case statement.
The injured girl went to Basail Upazila Health Complex and took primary treatments there.
Then she was referred to Tangail General Hospital.
Later, police came to know about the incident and took the girl under their custody.
The law enforcers then admitted her to Tangail General Hospital and informed her family members of the matter.
Assistant Professor of the hospital Rohena Parvin said the medical examination of the girl had been done.
Primary evidence of rape was found in the test, she said.
