Teknaf road accident kills 2
The accident took place near the Customs Station area at around 7am
Two people, including an auto rickshaw driver, were killed Tuesday in a collision between a Tomtom and a bus on the highway adjacent to Ukhiya TV Tower in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
The accident took place near the Customs Station area at around 7 am when a Teknaf-bound Saint Martin Service bus collided with an auto rickshaw from opposite side leaving two dead on the spot and four injured.
The deceased are --- Monir Ahmed, 22, son of Abdur Rahim of Ghumdhum in Noapara Union and the driver Jafar Ahmed, 32, son of Abul Hossain of Palangkhali.
Among the injured, Khairul Bashar Babul, 32, son of Maqbool Sobahan of Noapara was shifted to Chattogram fir critical condition and others were admitted to Red Crescent Hospital adjacent to the TV tower.
Shahpari Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maruf Ahmed told the Business Standard that the dead bodies have been handed over to their relatives.
Highway police have seized both vehicles, he added.
