Winners of Banglalink Ennovators 3.0 announced
Team Silver Lining, clinched the top spot for its idea on real-time vehicle monitoring
The winners of the 3rd edition of Banglalink Ennovators, a digital ideation contest, was announced by Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital.
The top five teams presented their ideas at the grand finale of the contest and the jury selected the best three as winners. Around 17,000 youngsters from across the country participated in the contest.
Team Silver Lining, secured the top place presenting its digital idea on a real-time vehicle monitoring system. The team will get the opportunity to visit Banglalink's parent company Veon's headquarters in Amsterdam.
Team Last Minute and Team Three And A Half Men were announced as the first and second runner-ups respectively for an integrated waste management system and a digital ecosystem for authenticating daily consumable products.
All of the top three teams will get direct entry to the "Assessment Center of the Strategic Assistant Program" of Banglalink along with attractive prizes.
The top five teams, on the other hand, will directly qualify for Banglalink's "Advanced Internship Program" and get opportunities to participate in Banglalink's "Learn from Startups" and "Campus to Corporate Programs".
Taimur Rahman, acting CEO and chief corporate and regulatory affairs officer of Banglalink said, "Digital innovation is now considered to be a key component of sustainable development all over the world."
"If we encourage youngsters to embrace innovation at an early stage, they will surely become more capable of taking our country forward. Banglalink will continue to create more opportunities for them to ensure this," he added.
Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury, deputy minister of education and Monzula Morshed, chief human resources and administration officer of Banglalink were also present at the event alongside other officials from the telecom operator.
The selection process had several steps designed to identify the most innovative minds. Following the initial selection process, the participants were allowed to attend grooming sessions and learn from industry experts.
The grand finale marked the successful completion of the 3rd edition of Banglalink Ennovators, which was launched in 2017. Radio Foorti was radio partner of the contest this year.
