Two women were admitted to the Isolation Unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night over suspicion of being infected with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Both patients hail from the Batiaghata upazila of Khulna.
The resident physician (medicine) of Khulna Medical College Hospital and the focal person of coronavirus management Dr Shailendranath Biswas said, "A woman brought her friend to the hospital on Wednesday midnight with fever, runny nose and cough.
"After checking the symptoms, both were put in insolation at the corona unit, because they came together. Senior doctors are monitoring them and their condition is stable now. If the symptoms increase, blood samples will be collected from them and sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR)."
