24 more Covid deaths, 910 new cases reported in 24hrs
The latest day's infection rate was 7.52% of the total tests in the country
Bangladesh logged 24 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Monday 8am.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 7,650, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the last 24 hours, 910 people tested positive for Covid-19, taking the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country to 5,16,929.
The latest day's infection rate was 7.52% of the total tests. The overall infection rate in the country to date was 15.80%. The death rate currently stands at 1.48%.
During the last 24 hours, 917 patients were declared free of Covid-19, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,61,515 with an 89.28% recovery rate.
Among the latest day's victims, 18 were men and six were women. All of them died in different hospitals across the country.
Moreover, 17 of them hailed from Dhaka, three from Rajshahi, and two each from Chattogram and Khulna divisions.
Meanwhile, 12,096 samples were tested in 180 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 32,72,423 samples have been tested in the country so far.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims shows that 5,815 of the total deceased were men and 1,835 were women.
The country's first Covid-19 case was reported on 8 March, 2020 and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March, 2020.
