Four staff at State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam's residence have been tested positive for Covid-19.
The state minister confirmed the matter in a Facebook post on Thursday evening.
Of the four infected persons, one is his house cook, and the three others are members of his security team.
Shahriar Alam said in his social media post that initially the cook and one of the security team showed coronavirus symptoms. Later, all the house staff and also the state minister himself went through Covid-19 testing.
Out of them, four tested positive for the virus. The other two have no symptoms, Shahriar Alam added in his post.
They are being treated at home and another round of tests will take place within 3-4 days to recheck the infection.
A relative of Shahriar Alam told The Business Standard that none of his family members have been at the government residence of the state minister in Dhaka and they are safe.
He also informed that of the infected four persons, three are his security staff.
