Registration for Covid vaccine begins on 26 January
The registration process for Covid vaccination will begin on 26 January, says the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In a press conference on Monday afternoon, top officials of the DGHS said Coroanvirus vaccine is likely to reach the country by 25 January. Then the Covid-19 vaccination drive will begin.
ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the DGHS, said the Covid-19 vaccine will be given to 50 lakh people in the first phase.
"The second dose of vaccine will be given four weeks after the first dose," he added.
At first, vaccines will be given to hospital health workers and volunteers working with Covid management to a limited number. However, it will take seven days to start the process.
People, who will receive the vaccines, have to give their consent in a government provided form.
Around 7,500 of vaccine centres will be set up across the country in phases to conduct the inoculation drive.
